Radiation Treatment
at our Reno Cancer Center

Radiation therapy is a commonly used tool to treat many types of cancer. It may be used as the only therapy or in combination with surgery or chemotherapy. The goal of radiation treatment is to deliver high doses of radiation to cancer cells while limiting injury to surrounding normal tissues.

Our Reno oncology experts use the most advanced radiation therapy technologies available to minimize side effects and improve outcomes.

Cutting Edge Radiation Treatment

Oncology Nevada continually invests in cutting edge radiation treatment technology, keeping patients close to home for their treatment and care and serving as a referral center for patients throughout the country.

In addition to treating all types of cancer, we treat a range of benign conditions.

Some of the most common are:

Plantar fasciitis
Arthritis
Bursitis
Tennis elbow / Golfer’s elbow
Keloids and Hypertrophic scars
Dupuytren’s and Ledderhose (Palmar and Plantar fibromatosis)
Trigeminal neuralgia

Prostate Spacer for Radiation Therapy

A little space before prostate radiation can make a big difference after. In a clinical study, SpaceOAR Hydrogel was shown to help minimize the impact on urinary, sexual and bowel quality of life for prostate cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Congratulations to Alexa Wolicki
Winner of the 2025 R. Guy Jones Memorial Scholarship!

We are proud to honor Alexa Wolicki, our 2025 R Guy Jones Memorial Scholarship Winner!

Her journey is nothing short of inspiring. In 2018, during her first semester of college, Alexa experienced her first Grand Mal seizure in the middle of a math final. What followed were years of challenges — countless neurologist visits, endless blood draws, losing her driver’s license, and learning to rely on others for even the simplest tasks.

But Alexa refused to let her diagnosis define her. Through perseverance, courage, and the support of her loved ones, she reclaimed her independence. Today, she is a certified nursing assistant and has just been accepted into the Radiologic Technology program — at the very college where her journey began.

Her story reminds us that setbacks can become turning points, and with grit and heart, second chances are possible.

Congratulations, Alexa — your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish!
