Minimizing the Side Effects of Prostate Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy destroys and stops the spread of cancer cells using high-energy beams, which can reach and negatively affect healthy tissue surrounding the prostate. We use Barrigel to protect the rectum by moving the healthy tissue away from the prostate.

An award of $2,500 will be given to one student.

Award Deadline is July 31, 2024

Applications will be accepted from any resident of the Greater Northern Nevada Area who  attends or will attend full-time (12 credit hours or more) school as an undergraduate at a two- or four-year college, university or trade school during the 2024 and/or 2025 academic year.
