Radiation therapy is a commonly used tool to treat many types of cancer. It may be used as the only therapy or in combination with surgery or chemotherapy. The goal of radiation treatment is to deliver high doses of radiation to cancer cells while limiting injury to surrounding normal tissues.

2025 Award Deadline is July 31, 2025
Applications will be accepted from any resident of Greater Northern Nevada Area who attend or will attend full-time (12 credit hours or more) school as an undergraduate at a 2 or 4-year college, university, or trade school during the 2025 and/or 2026 academic year.

Larissa’s journey is one of incredible strength and unwavering determination. As a child, she moved from El Salvador to the United States, where she faced and overcame social and educational barriers and has recently been accepted into nursing school – a testament to her courage and dedication.
